Who Are We?

The Southern Alberta Lego User’s Group or SALUG is a group of like minded adults in the Southern Alberta region who share an interest in Lego. The members all have a wide variety of interests and tastes in Lego in a wide variety of themes.

There is no defined level of Lego interest for a person to be part of this group, as it may be a weekend hobby or a life dominating obsession.

We have meetings once a month (or at least try to) where we can share MOC’s, discuss upcoming shows and events, and have an all around good time.

Other proposed activities in the future may include Parts Drafts, Building Competitions and Buy-Sell-Trade meetings.

Why Are We Doing This?

The main focus of SALUG is enjoying the hobby of being a Lego Collector, and to share our enjoyment with as many people as we can.

We have been lucky in the past several years to display our own layouts and Lego creations at several locations. We display annually at Supertrain in Calgary. We also display every year at Heritage Park during Railway days. You may also seen SALUG at some of the local Lego shows and building contests held throughout different neighbourhoods.

During the Summer of 2009 we had a display at the Glenbow Museum in downtown Calgary during their Vistas display. This has been a wonderful experience for the group and we have gotten a lot of positive feedback for the work that went into this display.

We look forward to sharing our Lego hobby with new friends in the future and seeing where this hobby can take each of us as a Lego Enthusiast.
